Summer

I really suck at keeping up with this blog.  I think I'll just stick the SD card in the computer, see what pictures are on there and go from there.

WIZARD OF OZ 

During the first 2 weeks in August the kids participated in a drama camp at the high school.  They went M-F from 8-12 for 2 weeks and at the end of the 2 weeks they put on the play The Wizard of Oz.  Jaycee played the scarecrow,  Hunter was Uncle Henry, Aspen was the narrarator, and Isabelle played a munchkin and a flying monkey.  They had a blast!  They all seemed to love being on stage.  It was a lot of fun.

THE ZOO

Mike and his family came out for a couple of weeks at the end of August.  We did a lot of driving back and forth from Morgan to Salt Lake during the couple of weeks they were here but it was worth it.  We did as much at we could.  We went swimming in Lehi, to the BYU bookstore, swimming in Orem, Lagoon, family pictures, The Gateway, the Zoo, dinner at Red Robin, and a lot of eating and hanging out at Grammy's.  The kids loves spending time with their cousins.  I wish we could see them more often. 

Apparantly my camera battery died while we were at the zoo and I kept forgetting to charge it so I don't have any other pictures:(

1st DAY OF SCHOOL

The kids started school on Aug. 25, 2010.  Jaycee is in 8th grade.  Hunter is in 6th grade. Aspen is in 4th grade.  Isabelle is in 3rd grade.  They were all very ready and excited for school to start.

Hunter loves scouts.  He recently earned his second class.  He would like to earn his eagle by the time he is 14 and his goal is to earn more merit badges than his dad did.  He is well on his way.

LAGOON

Isabelle got stuck coming down this water slide so the guy at the top had to push her down.

The girls did ride a few of the kiddie rides.  Puff, the merry go round and the train.

The whole family went on the train all 23 of us....

...except for Josh and Hunter.  They decided to go on Turn of the Century while we were waiting in line and didn't quite make it back in time.

We figure they put this sign up because someone actually tried to sit on this fence.  Or someone is just being funny.  This was in line for the spider.  We waited in this line for about 15 min.  We had an odd number so Ryan went by himself in front of Isabelle and I.  We were about to get on when the whole ride shut down.  Ryan was stuck on it and we had to exit immediately.

Every year the Butcher family goes to Lagoon.  We have been doing this every year since my dad started working at RC Willey and they would have their annual Lagoon day.  We love it and look forward to it every year.  We always go to Lagoona Beach first before it gets too crowded.  Then we ride the rides until they kick us out.  This year was the first year Ryan and I didn't spend the whole day in kiddie land. All 4 of our kids are big enough for the big rides and they all love to go on them.  We actually let the 3 older kids (Jaycee, Hunter & Josh)  go off on there own.  It was a great day!  The weather was nice and it really wasn't too crowded.

ST. GEORGE

Turk.

If you look closely you will see a preying mantis on his sleeping bag.  He woke up with it sleeping by him one morning.

Over Labor Day weekend the Cook family went to St. George.  We saw Tarzan at Tuacahn which was pretty cool.  We also did some hiking and some swimming.  It was a fun weekend and a great way to end our summer.

One more thing.  Jaycee is going to be in the high school play.  They are doing Legends of Sleepy Hollow.  She got to be in the homecoming parade to advertise the play.  She looks like she should be in high school. Don't you think?
